October 2011-- 10 Months Old

We started this month with a bang as we attended the Balloon Fiesta with Grandma and Grandpa Lagasse in Albuquerque.  We saw the balloons flying high in the air from Kirtland AFB on the morning of October 1st.  Later that afternoon we made our way to the launching field to see the balloons close-up for the twilight-twinkle.  The balloons never left the ground but it was really neat to see how the teams blow them up with.  Joe was able to capture lots of great photos of balloons of all different shapes and sizes.    On October 9th we went to St. Bernard's Farm & Pumpkin Patch in Clovis with some of our friends.  We were able to play fun games and look at some farm animals.  Of course, Sophia continues to be very afraid of most animals so she did not enjoy that part of the outing.  On October 15th we went for a hay ride in the park in our neighborhood.   It was sponsored by the base and Sophia got a free pumpkin after the ride!  Later that day Sophia walked with help for the first time...now she cannot get enough of that activity!  October 18th marked another big event for Sophia, she cut her top right tooth!  She now looks like such a big girl with two top and two bottom teeth :)  Since she has such a toothy smile, we decided to brush her teeth for the first time on October 19th.  She really enjoyed it!! On October 21nd we went to support the Clovis Wildcat High School football team.  Sophia had a good time but was ready for bed by halftime.  We may have left the game early but they didn't need us to cheer them on, they still won.  Go Wildcats!!  On October 22nd we spent our afternoon on base for the Fall Festival.  We got to go inside some of the planes that are flown on base and Sophia got to show off her cute ladybug costume.  Sophia thoroughly enjoyed her first Halloween on October 31st.  She had a great time playing in her costume at playgroup and then helped Mommy and Daddy pass out candy to the kids during trick-or-treating hours in our neighborhood. We hope you enjoy the pictures we captured of our sweet little ladybug this month!

Am I going to get in trouble for this?

The stem tastes yucky!

Joe carved the werewolf and the smily face, I carved the owl.
