Benscoter Family: February 2011-- 2 Months Old

Sophia has been very busy this month! On February 1st, the day she turned two months old, she saw snow for the first time. Sophia had her two month old well-baby check up on February 4th and weighed in at 11 pounds 10 ounces, and 23 1/4 inches long. She did very well with her two month immunizations which Mommy and Daddy were very relieved about! She was very fortunate to meet her Great Aunts Jan, Carol, and Kate on February 7th and she greatly enjoyed being cuddled by all of them! Right after saying goodbye to her Great Aunts that evening she got fantastic and exciting news!! She became a cousin to adorable Ava Grace Lagasse, Uncle Evan and Aunt Erin's baby girl. She is so excited to meet her on Cape Cod next month! On February 14th she got all dressed up for her first Valentine's day to impress the cutest Valentine ever....her Daddy. That day she also went to Santa Fe, New Mexico with Mommy, Daddy, and friends. Sophia had a great time snuggling in her Moby wrap while Mommy walked her all around the cute town where she met talented street vendors and checked out old churches. On February 18th Mommy headed back to work and Sophia went to daycare for the very first time. She was one of three babies in the newborn room and she had such a great time! Mommy went back to the daycare on her lunch break and Sophia was staring around the room with wide eyes just checking out her surroundings. She had so much fun at daycare that she wore herself completely out....and slept for over 10 hours!

Sophia is such a blessing and she keeps us smiling and laughing every day. We really enjoy hearing her sweet voice now that she coos all the time. We are also very thankful that once she turned 11 weeks old she started sleeping anywhere from 6-10 hours at night on a pretty consistent basis. What makes it even better is that she sleeps in her crib in her own room! Because of this, Mommy and Daddy are able to sleep much more soundly. When she is awake, she loves to lay on her back and swat at her toys, spend time in her swing, and sit up like a big girl in her Bumbo seat. She still despises tummy time but is able to challenge her neck muscles while sitting in her Bumbo. She is growing very rapidly and has almost completely outgrown her 0-3 month clothes and is excited to try on all of her cute outfits in the next size up. Sophia's vision is also improving...she will watch what Mommy and Daddy are doing and if she is upset, she will immediately calm down at the sight of a willing adult to cuddle her.
