February was a month filled with settling into life with three children. In fact, February 1st was my first day of being three-on-one with the kids while Joe was at work. It was a bit stressful but we all survived that day, thank goodness! We also survived Daddy's first flying trip towards the end of the month when he flew to Costa Rica and back as part of a Bravo alert mission. He was only gone for two days and everything ran smoothly on the home front.
Joe and I were given the green light to remove Tyler's g-tube button on February 1st. It was very easy to remove--we had done it numerous times previously in order to replace an old button with a new one. This time, however, we took his button out and covered the hole with a bandage. We were told to expect that the hole would close on its own within a matter of days. Unfortunately, it never healed on its own so we went to CHOP for a consult with general surgery on February 16th. Tyler had his hole surgically closed on February 29th. The procedure was extremely quick and Tyler did well.
The only other important note from the month of February is that Nana and Papa came to visit from February 13th-20th to meet Emmy and spend time with all of us. Joe and I were even able to get away for a romantic Valentine's meal at an awesome local Italian restaurant called Village Iccara.
