Benscoter Family: April 2011-- 4 Months Old

April has been a fun month for us as Sophia continues to grow right before our eyes. On April 3rd Nana and Grandpa Ben came to visit for a week! Since Joe was on TDY to Oklahoma City for two weeks, I was very thankful for the help. Sophia had her four month well baby check-up on April 5th and weighed in at 14lbs 7oz and 24.75in long. Sophia was also given her four month immunizations that day and unfortunately, she was a little out of sorts for about 48 hours afterwards. It didn't take long for her to get her groove back though...she began sleeping for 8+ hours through the night on April 14th. Since then she has been sleeping through the night on average 5 nights a week...we will take it! On April 17th we left Sophia with her first babysitters, Daniel and Amanda Rappa, while we went to Lubbock, TX for the evening to see Brian Regan. Joe and I had so much fun on our date night and Sophia was sleeping like a perfect angel when we came home. Daniel and Amanda are expecting a little boy in June and we can't wait to return the favor! April 24th was Sophia's first Easter AND she sat in a high chair for the first time at brunch after mass. What an exciting day! Sophia had another first on April 26th, she ate rice cereal! She made some funny faces in the beginning but seemed to enjoy it after a few spoonfuls. And finally for this month, Sophia sat unsupported on April 30th. I must be honest though, she will require much more practice before this skill is mastered but it is a good start! Enjoy the pictures of our little sweetheart!
