May 2011-- 5 Months Old

Sophia has had a very busy month as she continues to travel around the United States.  On May 6th Sophia flew to Atlanta, Georgia for the first time to stay at Nana and Grandpa Ben's house.  Two days later on May 8th we all had a wonderful Mother's day.  I feel so blessed to have had such a special day spent with Sophia and both my Mom and Mother-in-law.  I consider myself so lucky to be surrounded by so many wonderful women!  We had so much fun taking Sophia to our alma mater, Auburn University, on May 10th.  She got to see the National Championship trophy, the ROTC detachment, Samford hall, and the famous Toomer's corner.  May 11th was another fantastic day...Sophia got to watch her Auntie Julie graduate from college and she got to spend some quality time with Aunt Jan as well as Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Rini.  She sure loves being around so many people that love her so much.  May 11th was exciting for another reason...she ate squash for the very first time.  She absolutely loved it!  Unfortunately, she did not love green beans or sweet peas very much when she tried those later in the month.  Sophia ate her first fruit, bananas, on May 19th and seemed to like them pretty well although it appears that squash is the easy favorite this month.  The month ended on a high note as we celebrated Joe's promotion to Captain on May 30th.  Sophia and I are so proud of all the hard work he has put in to getting this promotion and how he continues to serve our wonderful country.  He is certainly our hero!
