June was a month filled with lots of traveling and a few 'firsts' for Sophia. Joe and Sophia had a lot of quality time together on the first weekend of June as I was in Denver for a physical therapy conference. Then, on June 5th, we all traveled back to Atlanta for our summer vacation. Sophia spent June 6-10th with Nana and Grandpa Ben while Joe and I went to Hilton Head, SC with our friends Johnny and Patrice Grimes. We certainly enjoyed our beach vacation but really missed our sweet little girl. On June 7th Sophia had her first swim ever in a pool at Nana and Grandpa Ben's house. Sophia also learned a new trick while we were gone....I'll keep you in suspense but give you a clue...see 'Bubble Lip' video! On June 13th Sophia had her 6 month check up. She weighed in at 18lbs 5oz and 26.8in long and is in the 80th percentile for both height and weight. June 19th was a special day since it was Joe's first Father's day. He would get a good gift on June 24 when Sophia said her first word, "Da-da". During the month of June Sophia is much better at sitting unsupported, loves bouncing in her jumperoo (see video), has become much more vocal, and has rolled from her belly to her back more frequently. She has also tried lots of new foods such as pureed chicken and turkey, pears, baby rice cakes, and yogurt. She continues to get more interactive and is quickly developing the cutest, sweetest personality. We hope you enjoy the pictures and videos we have captured this month.
